Knoxville ran away and completely hid from the competition yesterday at the Centerville Cross Country Invitational. The boys won by 53 points over second place Ottumwa. Jamie VanderVeer led the Panther pack over the line in third. He was closely followed by Timothy Shepherd in sixth, Wick Cunningham continues to impress as he came home in eighth, and Alex Edwards completed the top ten Panther foursome with ninth. On the girls side, Knoxville won the sixth runner tie breaker to claim runner-up to four-A power Ottumwa. Alissa VanKlootwyk’s time of 16 minutes 11 seconds was good enough for sixth place. Coach Mike Moats said both teams ran extremely well and adds both boys and girls are running their best at the right time of the season.
