With the Little Hawkeye Conference title in the bag, the Knoxville Boys Cross Country Squad now sets its sights on the next goal on the list, a District Championship and a top starting spot at State. The third ranked Panthers along with Pella and Grinnell are three heavy favorites to not only win but to qualify for the state meet in Fort Dodge. Coach Mike Moats says while the conference meet was likely one of the best efforts by the team with all seven runners in the top 30, he thinks there is a lot more. Glenwood is the second ranked team in class 3A according the Iowa Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Poll released last week. Marion is second following by Knoxville. The Class 3A District meet is this Thursday at Pine Knolls Country Club in Knoxville.
