Pella Christian hasn’t forgotten the hurt and disappointment of  what happened last year when they entered the Class 1A playoffs as a number one seed and were upset at home by fourth seeded Panorama in the opening round.  This year, the Eagles, coming off their third consecutive district title, are up a class to 2A and again are a number one seed, and are determined to not let that happen again when they face fourth seeded Roland Story tonight.

Coach Rich Kacmarynski  says any team in the playoffs is going to be tough and you can’t make mistakes and advance so they have worked hard the past couple weeks on eliminating mistakes and turnovers and the kids have responded well.  He says they have a lot of respect for the tradition of Roland Story and knows they’ll come ready to battle tonight.

One common opponent of the two this season was Bondurant Farrar who was Pella Christian’s lone loss in week three by nine points,  Roland Story beat Bondurant Farrar 7-6 the week before that.

The Eagles are riding a ton of momentum into the post season coming off of six straight wins, while Roland Story is coming off back to back losses and brings a 5-4 record into the playoffs.

Tickets for tonight’s game are on sale in the Pella Christian High School office from 7:30am-3:30pm at a cost of $6.00 each and gates to the stadium will open to the public at 6pm.  You can hear tonight’s game with Jamie Brockman and Nate Van Wyk streaming live on kniakrls.com starting with the pre game at 6:30pm and kickoff at 7pm.  There will be a delayed broadcast on 92.1 FM KRLS following the Pella vs DCG game around 10pm tonight.
