Last month, the Marina Project at Lake Red Rock began to move the marina upstream and build a high water parking lot in it’s place. Assistant Ops Manager of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, John Holt tells KNIA/KRLS News that trucks are hauling dirt out of the exposed lake bed and placing it at the new marina site. Holt said the reasons why they decided to proceed with the project is because the marina needs to set back into the cove to avoid wind and waves and there needs to be a parking lot that does not flood near the lake. The project has been in talks for a couple of years and now is expected to be completed in the spring.
