Though a 21-14 loss in the second round of the Class 2-A Football Playoffs was a bitter pill to swallow for Pella Christian, it also marked another high point in the rapid ascent of the football program.  In just a few short years, the team has gone from playing JV football only, to finding success in Class 1-A, to finishing as one of the 16 best 2-A teams in the state in 2010.

Eagles’ assistant coach Darryl De Ruiter says though they may not feel like it now, he hopes the players – especially the 12 seniors – can one day appreciate how well they did this season and what they’ve accomplished as a team.  The program also has a great deal of promise for next season, as they will return a large number of athletes that were juniors this year on a team that finished with a school-best 9-2 overall record.
