Knoxville Swimmer Christina Ambergy and her Indianola teammates proved worthy competitors at the State Girls Swim Meet in Marshalltown yesterday. Ambgery swims for Indianola High School in a sharing agreement between Indianola and Knoxville helped her 200 freestyle relay team to a 17th place finish in a time of 1:43.73 seconds. Their time was just 11-one hundredths of a second out of the team goal of a top 16. Ambergy then turned her attention to the 400 freestyle relay and this time the foursome notched a top 16 with a 16th place finish in a time of 3:48.19. The 16th place finish earned the Indians two team points and left Indianola finishing in 27th place with ten total team points. Coach Kurt Lickiss says both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays should be strong next season and all four swimmers return.
