Applications went out this week for the new Mayor’s Youth Council in Knoxville. The second and third readings of an ordinance establishing the council was approved at this week’s Knoxville City Council meeting. Mayor Don Zoutte tells KNIA/KRLS news the applications are now available at the Knoxville High School and must be submitted by December 15th. He says the purpose of the Youth Council is for young residents to have their voices heard. Zoutte says he hopes to have interviews with applicants the week before Christmas break so that the council can begin right away when they return in the New Year.
