The Knoxville City Council approved the new City Manager profile during a special meeting Wednesday evening. Current City Manager Dick Schrad says Richard Fursman of Brimeyer-Fursman, the search firm contracted through the city to aid in the hiring process, is making edits to the profile and soon the position will be advertised with an application deadline of December 13th. At that time, Brimeyer-Fursman will begin filtering through the applicants and present a list to the city council on January 10th. Next the search firm and city council will work together to develop a list of finalists who will be invited to a series of interviews on January 28th and 29th with the council, department heads and community representatives. Schrad says hopefully at that time a selection will be made and the starting date for the new manager is tentative set for April 4th.
