The Winter is near and soon the bodies of water in Marion County will be open for ice fishing. State Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon tells KNIA/KRLS News that it is important to always have someone with you when ice fishing. He says that an average size male will want to make sure that there is about two inches of solid ice below him by drilling a hole near the dock. Kenyon adds that as you move around the body of water you should continue making holes to make sure the ice that you are on top of is solid.
