A local doctor has won this weeks Iowa Hospital Association Hospital Hero award. According to the academy, Dr. Matt Gritters, a Physician at Pella Regional Health Center won the award due to his extraordinary skill and kind and gentle manner. In addition to his work at Pella Regional Health Center, Dr. Gritters recently spent time in Haiti on a medical mission trip to care for those who were injured in the earthquake. Dr. Gritters was nominated by four colleagues, Pam Boat, Carla Chow, Sherri Church and Joan Vande Krol, all nurses at Pella Regional Health Center.
