With an Iowa winter that is expected to be colder an wetter than normal fast approaching, local schools are making sure that there are enough days allotted for severe weather. In Pella, the last school day is May 26th but the next five weekdays are available in case they have to cancel during the school year. If there is a 6th day cancelled, students will attend class on Good Friday, 7th and 8th days will be made up during the first two days of spring break and if there is a 9th day it will be made up on February 25th. In Knoxville, if one day is cancelled before January 13th, they will have school, with a two hour early dismissal on the 13th. If a second day is cancelled, students will attend class on January 14th. If more days are needed, classes will be scheduled in the order of June 2nd, June 3rd, May 18, February 25th, March 14th and March 15th.
