Thanks to 2008 flood recovery funds, North Overlook Beach at Lake Red Rock is receiving a makeover. Park Ranger Junifer Kruse says they were able to remove two old buildings and replace them with two new buildings that are on high enough ground to where they won’t ever be under water. One of the buildings will be a shower with a change room and the other is a concession stand with restrooms. In addition, Kruse says that there is a new road into the beach which will not go underwater, making North Overlook open at all water levels. The project is expected to be completed sometime next summer.
