The Pella football team looks to advance on step closer to a return trip to the UNI-Dome tonight, when they host A-D-M in the second round of the Class 3-A playoffs. The Little Dutch held on for a 10-point victory in a cold and windy contest last Wednesday, and are again at home as the Tigers come in to Pella off of a 17-12 win over Mount Pleasant. Pella Head Football Coach Jay McKinstrey says A-D-M is comparable to his squad in size and athleticism, and says it won’t be an easy task for the Little Dutch offense to move the football down the field.

“Defensively they get after you. They come with the house frequently – they’ve got nine guys in the box and they’re coming; so they’ll present a lot of challenges for us in that way,” said McKinstrey. “They’ll be very similar to DC-G in the sense of their size – they’re not huge or anything, but they are athletic and they can run. They [A-D-M] play aggressive football, and it’s just going to be an athletic team against an athletic team.”

Live coverage of the second round playoff game between Pella and A-D-M will be streamed online at www.kniakrls.com with Jamie Brockman and Randy Sikkema – starting at 6:30 p.m., with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. tonight. You can also hear the game on 92.1 fm KRLS on a delayed broadcast, starting at 10:00 p.m.
