Superintendents and board members from our local school districts attended the Iowa Association of School Boards convention earlier this month. Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer said that himself, Joan Corbin and President Marv Van Wyk were at the convention to represent Pella. Joan Corbin was reelected as a board member for the IASB on the first day of the convention. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says that overall he feels like it was a great conference and the board got a lot out of it as well. Flack adds that the primary topics of the convention were 21st century skills and budget issues, something that they focus on in Knoxville during their board meetings.
