A classroom at Lincoln Elementary School in Pella is putting on a play for students and parents on Monday and Tuesday. Lincoln Elementary teacher Marla Hardin tells KNIA/KRLS News that their Thanksgiving play provides a fun way for children to learn about the history of Thanksgiving and how it became a national holiday in 1863. Hardin, who will retire at the end of this school year after 30 years of teaching says that her students have been putting on this play for parents and other classrooms for nearly 20 years. The final production for parents starts at 11:30am on Tuesday with a Thanksgiving feast to follow.
