Last weekend several communities in Northwestern Iowa received their first big snowfalls of the year. State Climatologist Harry Hillaker tells KNIA/KRLS News that there were towns that registered as much as fourteen inches of snow on Saturday. Hillaker says that by the middle of the week Marion County could see its first snowfall if there is precipitation because the temperatures are expected to be cold enough. He adds that he still believes that Marion County will experience another winter colder and wetter than average.
