The thirteenth annual International Rear Wheel Film Festival at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum will provide entertainment to race fans a few months earlier than usual.

The festival is typically held during the Knoxville Nationals but according to Museum Curator Tom Schmeh the weather has forced them to cancel the event in the past. Therefore, this year’s event will be held during the Knoxville Raceway’s practice night weekend April 22nd through 24th.

Five different racing films will be featured in the festival including two new documentaries, Sean Buckley’s “Follow the Corn” about Indiana non-winged sprint car racing and Randy Anderson’s Stateline Speedway, the First Ten years” about the Busti New York dirt track. Also being shows in the theatre will be “Red Dirt Racing”, “Short Track” and “Racing Dreams”.

Schmeh says this will be a great kick-off to the 2011 racing season with an all-star line-up for those four consecutive days and nights. The event will take place on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. Tickets for the film festival will be four dollars per day or 10 dollars for a three-day pass.
