The Midlands crown has once again eluded Central College Assistant Wrestling Coach Jake Patacsil. Patacsil dominated early, en route to three straight victories before getting upset in the quarterfinals.

Before the loss, Patacsil quickly won 15-0 on a technical fall over Ramon Santiago of Rider in just 2:58. He then wrestled Mike Kelly of Iowa, and went on to win 13-0. Patacsil won again on a technical fall over Jackson Morse of Illinois, 16-0 in 3:00.

Patacsil was the top seed going into the tournament, but was pinned by Chase Nelson in the quarterfinals(8th seed, Oklahoma).

The former All-American has finished in the top three at Midlands 4 times with three 3rd place finishes and one 2nd place finish.
