The Central College Flying Pans Steel Band will hold its annual Toys for Tots fundraiser concert next Saturday, December 4th in Douwstra Auditorium. The Flying Pans will be joined by Tropical Steel from Des Moines to present Caribbean Christmas. Both the Flying Pans and Tropical Steel are steel drum bands who play Caribbean music. Special guest and Iowa native Stan Dahl directs Tropical Steel, something that he has been a part of for ten years. After graduating from Arizona State with a Masters of Music in Percussion Performance, Dahl came back to Iowa in 1997 to continue preforming his music with a Caribbean sound. The event starts at 7:30pm and admission is $5 or you can bring an unwrapped toy. Tickets may be purchased at Maytag Student Center by calling 628-9000.
