A slow start for the Central Women’s basketball team and hot outside shooting for Wartburg made for a bad combination for the Dutch, as the Knights secured an 84-63 Iowa Conference win on Saturday.  Wartburg’s Maddie Sadecky canned all seven of her three-point attempts in the first half, while the Central women struggled to score early in the contest.  

The Dutch did see solid contributions out of Pella natives Haley Brillhart and Kelsey Schuring, however, as Schuring tallied 18 points and 9 rebounds and Brillhart made her season debut with a 12-point, 10-rebound performance.  Brillhart was again working up to speed after another volleyball season for Central.  The loss drops the women’s squad to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the Iowa Conference.
