Knoxville and Pella Students Selected for Bandmaster’s Association Honor Band

Last week Knoxville and Pella High Schools sent several students to Des Moines to audition for the South Central Iowa Bandmaster’s Association Honor Band. Of the students who auditioned 12 individuals from Pella and 4 from Knoxville were selected.

Knoxville Band Director Ross Leeper tells KNIA/KRLS news the members of the honor band are selected based on competitive auditions and will take part in the honor band festival on January 8th where they will rehearse for an entire day and perform for the public that evening at Drake University.

The south central region of the Bandmaster’s Association includes all schools in central Iowa from the southern boarder of the state up to Ames.

Knoxville Students Selected:

Paige Yocum, clarinet

Jenn Adrian, clarinet

Josh Burk, french horn

Joe Stearns, alto saxophone.
