As previously reported on KNIA/KRLS news, construction has begun on the new ice rink at Young’s Park in Knoxville. The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are now collecting used ice skates so that more area residents can enjoy the soon to open ice rink. Skates of all sizes are needed and will be used for skaters to borrow while at the local rink. Those who would like to donate a pair of skates and drop them off at the Knoxville Chamber office during their regular business hours of 9-5. The city’s goal is to have the rink open in time for area youth to be able to enjoy it while on winter break from school.
