A local photographer will have several of his pieces featured in the 2011 Iowa Outdoors calendar. Iowa Outdoors is the Department of Natural Resources’ magazine of conservation and recreation and they put out a calendar each year with photos of nature and wild life. Of the 13 months in the calendar, this December through December of 2011, photographer Ron Huelse’s work is featured in 7 of them.

Hulse says while he is honored to be featured this doesn’t leave him a lot of room for improvement as the number of months in the year won’t be changing any time soon.

Hulse has been taking photographing wildlife for 10 years now and his work has been featured in Iowa Outdoors many times along with several publications produced by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.
