In just one month the 84th Iowa General Assembly will convene and job creation and budget cuts will be two of the top priorities. Senate Republican Leader Paul McKinley tells KNIA/KRLS news when voters spoke in November they indicated pretty clearly that they believe government has become too big, too out of touch and increasingly out of control. He says he plans to address what voters want, primarily control of spending and increased concern about creating an atmosphere where the private sector can create more jobs for Iowans.

McKinley says the state government needs to begin looking at all the rules and regulatory regime that has been established and creates real serious problems for businesses.
