Coach Jim Wells and the Melcher-Dallas boys basketball team finished the first half of the season with a 4-3 mark and are heading into the holiday break with an eye toward improvement.
Though the Saints stayed above the .500 mark during the first portion of the schedule Coach Wells still feels there are things for his squad to improve on to become a better team. Wells is looking for his squad to put together a full four quarter game. Wells commented that his team has played very well for stretches but have been unable to put a full game together yet this season. He also is looking for marked improvement in the defense over the second half of the season. With the amount of athleticism on this Melcher-Dallas team they have proven to be a tough match up even in their losses and have been very good in the offensive end of the floor. The Saints begin practice on Wednesday and as of right now Wells stated that Melcher-Dallas does not have any scrimmages scheduled over the holiday break but still may be looking.
