Pella City Council Approve Sales Tax at Special Meeting

The Pella City Council met last week in special session. The board approved an agreement pursuant between Marion County, Knoxville and Pella regarding allocation of local option sales and services tax revenues. The agreement states that Knoxville will receive 4% and Pella will receive 7% beginning in January of 2012. The board also approved a public referendum to authorize the imposition of a local sales and services tax which would go towards road improvements, improvements at Caldwell Park and improvements at the indoor pool. The next council meeting is scheduled for December 21st.
