It took nearly 10 minutes for Gilbert to crack the scoreboard Friday night as the PCM girls posted another suffocating defensive performance en route to a 51-25 Heart of Iowa Conference win Friday night.
The Mustangs outscored the Tigers 11-0 in the first quarter and held a 19-7 lead at the halftime break. The third period saw the Tigers mount a comeback with Kaitlyn Kuntz knocking down a three at the buzzer pulling the Tigers within 30-20 going into the final eight minutes. In the final quarter the Mustangs put together an offensive flurry outscoring the Tigers 21-5. Jordan Wood led the way for PCM, the senior averaging a double double on the season, went for 17 points. Taylor Bianchi had a great night for the Mustangs from her guard spot scoring 13 points on the night including 11 in the second half. With the win the Mustangs improve to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the Heart of Iowa Conference.
