Former Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack made a visit to Marion County earlier this week to discuss the Iowa Initiative to Reduce Unintended Pregnancies with area health care professionals. While in the area KNIA/KRLS news was able to catch up with her to find out what her future plans are. When asked about whether or not she plans to run for public office Vilsack says she’s exploring the possible opportunities. One factor Vilsack says could determine whether or not she will run is the possible redistricting in Iowa as a result of the 2010 census. She says the number of congressional members in Iowa will be influential on her decision of whether or not to continue a political career in congress or another public office.
