A winter storm is approaching Iowa and a winter weather advisory will go into effect at midnight. According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines the advisory will remain in effect until 6pm tomorrow and a total of 2-5 inches of snow are expected. The snow will begin to accumulate in Marion County around midnight with the majority of the snow falling between midnight and noon tomorrow.

Roads can become slick and snow covered, especially in less frequently serviced areas.

Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time to get to their destination and use caution while driving.
