Central College will hold it’s annual Convocation Ceremony in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday next week. Brandyn Woodard,
Director of Intercultural Life at Central College says the convocation is an annual event that tries to bring awareness to civil rights issues. Woodard says the ceremony will include guest speakers, student artwork displays, and essays by students and faculty. In the past, the convocation has been attended by people associated with the civil rights movement and Dr. King, such as Sister Antona Ebo, who participated in the famous march from Selma to Montgomery in 1965. Woodard hopes the event will teach students about the struggles of civil rights activists and help them understand their role in advancing the cause. The convocation will take place next Monday Jaunuary 17th, at 11am in Douwstra Auditorium
