Three Central players were plagued with the injury bug after Christmas and were forced watch from the sidelines Wednesday night as their Dutch teammates fought hard but dropped a game to Luther College.

The Dutch actually had the lead early with a 24-21 score. The Norse rebounded quickly with a 19-3 run to take the lead 43-31 with 10 minutes to go. Central then put together a 17-6 run to pull within one with 3 minutes to go, but were held without a bucket the remainder of the game. Luther pulled out the win, 53-48.

Jack Bruns led the way for the Dutch with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Central is now 6-5 overall with a 2-1 conference record. Luther is 6-5 and undefeated in conference play (3-0).

Central will make their first home appearance since December 6th as they welcome Coe College to Pella. It will be a women’s-men’s doubleheader starting at 2PM, with the men hitting the floor at 4PM. You can view a video webcast with live stats at central.edu/athletics.
