Pella Police Chief Micheal Marcincowski says the city is beginning work on how to properly deal with new, more lenient conceal and carry gun laws in Iowa. He says the department is working with City Attorney Bob Stuyvesent to develop a policy that both respects Iowa law and ensures safety for citizens and city employees alike. Marcincowski has one of his Lieutenants investigating what other police departments around the state are doing in light of the new rules. He expects the city council will review the matter in the two to three weeks.
