Poor shooting hurt the Central College women’s basketball team yet again, as the Dutch were routed last night 106-58 by conference front-runner Simpson College.  Central made just 30 percent of its shots for the game, including a meager 23 percent from the floor in the first half, and also committed 20 turnovers in the first 20 minutes of gameplay.

Dutch Head Coach Jerry Nikkel emptied his bench, as 16 players saw action in the loss to the Storm.  Pella natives Haley Brillhart and Kelsey Schuring had 8 and 7 points respectively.  Brillhart added 6 rebounds, while Sarah Paulson had a team-high 7 boards.

The Central women are now 3-11 overall on the season and 0-5 in the Iowa Conference.  Simpson won its 10th straight game and is now 11-3 overall and 5-0 in league play.  Central returns home Saturday, with a women’s-men’s doubleheader against Cornell College.
