The recent dog fight case in Knoxville continues later this week. As previously reported by KNIA/KRLS news one resident was transported to the hospital for serious injuries after trying to break up a dog fight between two pit bulls in a home on South Attica road in Knoxville Sunday, January 9th.

The City held a hearing last week and determined the dogs are “dangerous animals” as defined by city code which means they must be removed from city limits or destroyed within 30 days.

The owner of the dogs has filed an appeal before the City Council which will be held during a special meeting Friday at 3pm.

City Manager Dick Schrad says this ruling only affects the two dogs who were involved in the fight and not all dogs or pit bulls in the City.
