The Knoxville Education Foundation held their most successful Chili Cook Off to date last week.

10 local chefs participated in this year’s event with “The Meyer Boys” taking home the coveted golden ladle and Nigel McKay coming in second place. Other chefs included Mary Montgomery, Megan McKay Ziller, Steve Eck, Troy Hawkshead, Dan Lodada, Brent Hanna, FFA and Team Nutrition.

A total of $650 was raised which will go ward the education foundation’s efforts in supporting the Knoxville School District.

Foundation President David Hoke says the chefs did an amazing job with the special recipes and they want to thank Kevin Meyer and Fareway for providing ham sandwiches for the event and Lynette Rankin and Connie Boldt from the high school kitchen for their great cinnamon rolls and relish tray.

Hoke says each year the fundraiser grows and they hope that it will continue to receive such great community support in the future.
