As a follow up to a story originally heard on KNIA/KRLS back in December, a Knoxville man was arrested Tuesday for involuntary manslaughter after a passenger in his vehicle died in a traffic accident in Missouri. Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS news his department was notified yesterday of an arrest warrant that was issued for Eugene Perkins Jr. of Knoxville, at which time officers went to his residence and took him into custody. The charges stem from a traffic accident that occurred in Hickory County, Missouri on December 9th when an intoxicated Perkins failed to steer his 2006 Toyota Corolla when entering a curve. The vehicle traveled on to the left side of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned. 45 year-old passenger Judy L. Shaw of Knoxville was pronounced dead at the scene.
