It was another busy year for the Knoxville Police Department in 2010. Calls for service increase 9% to 6,670 which is 4% above average. Accidents increased to 244 which remains 5% below average and the number of persons injured decreased slightly to 24 which Chief Dan Losada says is the fewest since the Police Department began tracking the data. Losada says criminal acts by juveniles continues to account for a significant portion of crime in Knoxville. A total of 155 juvenile referrals were made by the Knoxville Police Department, equal to 45% of all referrals in the county. The most common reason for referral was theft followed by possession of alcohol underage.

2010 statistics for the Pella Police Department are still being compiled and we will bring you that information as it becomes official.
