Local students earned more than $4,000 dollars during halftime of the Pella versus Pella Christian basketball game Friday, January 14th. Eight students competed in a basketball obstacle course sponsored by the Marion County Bank. Some of the obstacles included a bounce pass through a hula hoop, a free throw, launching a shot at a 7-foot target and performing a basketball trick that was judged by Pella Christian Athletic Director Brad Engbers and Pella Community High School Principal Eric Nelson. Steve Kraayenbrink, President of Marion County Bank, and Pat Moriarity, Investment Center Manager, presented a $4,350 check to the students of Pella Christian High and Pella Community High School.
