In light of the Iowa House of Representatives recently passing a resolution in support of a Veterans National Recovery Center at the VA campus in Knoxville, Mayor Don Zoutte recently sent a letter to senate leaders expressing his thoughts and concerns. The letter intends to inform Senators Paul McKinley, Mike Gronstal, Daryl Beall and Jeff Danielson about the current status of the campus and request for proposals. Zoutte asks the senate to reconsider placing undue and unfair prejudice against the other proposals by passing a resolution in favor of the VNRC. He says when all proposals are written and presented there will be plenty of time for endorsements before the VA makes their decision.
