There is no such thing as an ugly win. The PCM girls shot 89% from the free throw line Friday night to secure a hard fought 41-36 road win over the Rams of Jefferson-Scranton. The Mustangs played their signature great defense throughout but struggled from the floor shooting just 28% for the game. PCM held a slim 14-12 advantage at the halftime break despite forcing the Rams to commit 13 first half turnovers. In the second half the Mustangs stayed aggressive and got to the free throw line. PCM went 23 of 26 at the line for the night including a perfect 12 of 12 night from leading scorer Jordan Wood. Wood finished the evening with 22 points. Stephanie Hayden also hit clutch baskets and was seven of ten from the line in the final minutes for PCM. With the win the Mustangs are now 13-5 overall and 10-3 in the Heart of Iowa Conference with a Tuesday game against Ogden next on the schedule.
