A date that was sure to have been marked on many people’s calendars has arrived. The cross-town rivalry between the Pella Christian Eagles and the Pella Little Dutch is tonight, from Pella Christian High School.

The contest, although still relatively early in the season, is an important one. Pella is currently second in the conference(4-1), while Pella Christian is just a half-game back(3-1). The Little Hawkeye conference leader is Norwalk, who have yet to lose a game(4-0). Norwalk is at Knoxville tonight for a girl-boy doubleheader.

Kyle Newendorp enters the game as Pella’s leading scorer(9.2ppg) and rebounder(7.0rpg). He also has a team best turnover-to-minute ratio. Chase Carlson leads the way in scoring for the Eagles at 17.1ppg while shooting 60% from the field. Kyle Nikkel is the teams leading rebounder averaging 12.0rpg.

You can hear the Pella-Pella Christian doubleheader on 92.1FM KRLS and kniakrls.com. The pregame starts at 6:00PM with tip-off of the girls game slated for 6:15PM. Eric Grillaert and Eric Gotschall will be on hand to bring you all the action.
