The Pella Lady Dutch got off to a slow start Friday night while hosting South Tama and were never able to recover, as the Trojans won 67-54.

South Tama came to play, and seemed to put together their best 16 minutes of basketball at the right place and right time. It didn’t seem to matter what Pella did (or didn’t do) in the first half. South Tama was flat out on their game.

Aside from the first quarter, Pella actually outscored – and outplayed – South Tama; but the 22-6 first quarter deficit proved too deep of a hole to dig out of.

With the loss, Pella drops to 5-2 on the year and 4-1 in conference play. They will play PCM tonight before they go on a three-game road trip, where they’ll see Grinnell, Pella Christian and Norwalk span of 11 days.
