Students at Peoria Christian School received a new, state-of-the-art Smart Board Thursday morning as part of Hy-Vee’s Smiles for Education program. The Smart Board is an interactive white board that allows users to plug into classroom computers. The Board was presented by Scott Johnson, Store Director at the Pella Hy-Vee. Elizabeth Hocksbergen, principal at Peoria Christian School, says that using technologically advanced tools in the classrooms helps increase student achievement. The fifteen hundred dollar Smart Board will be put to use as soon as teachers have been trained.
