Lois Turnage, music and band teacher at Pleasantville Elementary School has been selected as the January Ulrich Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Radio Teacher of the Month. Turnage has taught at Pleasantville for the past 29 years where she also coaches the Pleasantville High School dance team. She says she loves every aspect of music and teaching it to her students because it is a tremendous outlet for all ages and helps broaden the cultural and creative experience in life.

Mrs. Turnage will receive a $250 check to Pleasantville Elementary School to be used how she chooses and the use of the teacher of the month car for January.

If you would like to nominate a teacher for the Ulrich Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Radio Teacher of the Month send an email with their name and a reason why they should be chosen to teacher@kniakrls.com.

For more with Lois Turnage, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville at 12:40 when I sit down with her to discuss her career and why it’s so rewarding.
