Last week, M&M Enterprises from Sigourney began the core drilling on the 26 underwater lights at the Pella Aquatic Center’s Outdoor Pool. Pella Administrative Services Director Jenny Hesseltine tells KNIA/KRLS News that the project has stopped while the contractor examines the conduit originally installed with the lights in 2005. Hesseltine add that it is a labor-intensive project because the original galvanized steel conduit already shows signs of corrosion and needs to be replaced. The $744,000 project is expected to be completed by this summer.
