One of Iowa’s U.S. Senators visited Knoxville last week and expressed his concern about the future of the Knoxville VA campus and the underutilization of other federally owned properties. Senator Chuck Grassley says if the federal government is wasting a lot of money on property that they will likely never use again by paying for upkeep. Grassley says we need to find a way to get these “dead horses” off the federal inventory. He says even if they were given away the government would be saving money.
