Just over one year ago, Knoxville native Don Zoutte took over as Mayor of his hometown. Now at the middle of his first two year term, Zoutte says things are going well thus far and he continues to look forward into the future. Mayor Zoutte says one thing he was surprised to realize was how slowly things seem to progress.

One of the things Zoutte says he’s most proud of is how much people in the community have come together.

Two of the main things Zoutte says he’s looking forward to in 2011 is the execution of an enhanced use lease for the VA campus and the creation and development of the Mayor’s Youth Council.
