Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson has received professional certification by the state of Iowa.
The Iowa Certified Emergency Manager Program is designed to provide professional certification and while it is encouraged obtaining this status is not mandatory. To receive the certification applicants must have a minimum of 12 months as an Emergency Management Coordinator in the state of Iowa, and have specific experience such as planning, professional training and exercise completion. The applications then must be approved by the certification committee and are valid for three years at which time renewal must be completed.
