A plan to close Iowa Workforce Development offices around the state, including one in Pella, is leaving more questions than answers. The IWD announced last week it would be consolidating 55 field offices into 16 regional offices. Pella City Administrative Services Director Jenny Hesseltine says her office has not received any information about the closures, and is working to find out if and how the city would be involved in providing those services. Outlets such as libraries and extension offices would be charged with providing job-seeking services under the new plan, which is set to go into effect July 1st.
