Just over two weeks ago, Central men went into Dubuque and brought a 16 point win back to Pella, Thursday night was a different story. Dubuque was missing their leading scorer, yet still pulled out a 12 point win over the Dutch. The Spartans jumped out to an early lead and never lost it.

Demarco Turner continued his hot shooting, finishing with 16 points, but he was the only player from Central to crack double figures.

With the loss, Central is now 11-9 overall and 7-5 in conference play. Dubuque improves to 14-6 overall and 8-3 in the Iowa Conference.

The loss drops Central three games behind Luther College for first place in the league standings. Luther comes to Pella Saturday for a women’s-men’s doubleheader. Luther defeated the Dutch 53-48 at Decorah Jan. 5.

The women will tip off at 2 p.m. and the men will began at approximately 4 p.m. You can hear the doubleheader live on 92.1FM KRLS and streamed live at kniakrls.com. Eric Gotschall will provide the call.
